Dreamy & Bold Wedding Flowers

Colorful bursts of protea and ginger blossoms. Lush jungly leaves, fronds, and ferns. Long strands of amaranthus floating on the breeze. Sabrina and Richard’s vision for their Maui wedding was full of dreamy and bold, tropical-forward floral moments we were honored to bring to life.

THE BOUQUET

While vibrancy was plentiful throughout this Olowalu Plantation House wedding, Sabrina held a pristine white bouquet contrasted with vivid greens. Let’s take a closer look. You can probably spot the orchids and ranunculus—and note the spray roses we clustered in there among sweet pea blossoms and fragrant tuberose. As for the foliage, you’re looking at umbrella ferns and fronds, monstera and xanadu…plus a long tendril of Italian ruscus to cascade down from the base beside the orchids.

THE CEREMONY

Remember the protea and ginger? Here’s where a lot of these beauts came into play. We used the king protea and pin cushion varieties for the former. As for the latter—those bubblegum-pink beehive-esque blossoms—they’re ginger blooms we call awapuhi here in Hawai’i, and they have such a lovely and subtle spicy scent. But if you ask us, it was the tropical paired with the windswept ruscus and amaranthus that really set these designs apart.

THE RECEPTION

Who needs centerpieces when you’ve got pastoral garlands? Place settings when you’ve got giant monstera leaves? This tablescape was giving The Wind in the Willows Maui style. Also memorable were the flowers woven into the rattan peacock chairs at Sabrina and Richard’s sweetheart table, the Hawaiian POG-hued bar floral arrangement… It’s just like we said before: Bringing these designs to life was a true delight.
