Classically Romantic Wedding Flowers

Getting a Floralette wedding featured on Style Me Pretty is always an honor, and this one made the front page! It’s no wonder—Nancy and Michael are a couple with impeccable taste, and it was so fun designing the cream-and-green florals of their dreams, which, as Style put it, “echoed the venue’s natural beauty.” (Thanks Style, we love feeling seen!) Scroll on to read all about our process.

THE PERSONALS

Buttercream-lush petals—à la roses, ranunculus, and sweet peas—were the stars of Nancy’s classic bouquet, and we love the way the flower appliqué on her gown rhymed with the live blooms. To balance out all that romance, we added a few sprigs of prickly green scabiosa (obsessed with the little spidery legs on these) and pittosporum foliage (note the delicate white edges on the leaves).

Much in the way of floral nesting dolls, Nancy’s bridal party bouquets were like mini versions of hers—while Michael and his groomsmen’s boutonnieres were like mini versions of the bouquets. Pinned to the boys’ lapels were sweet little posies of more ranunculus, scabiosa, and pittosporum. We just love this kind of subtle cohesion.

THE CEREMONY

Put giant white floral arrangements in urns atop pedestals, and you’ll notice the vibe gets very charming. Add an achingly blue ocean backdrop and things take a turn for downright heavenly. We did our best to live up to the word with lush floral markers in the palette’s cream and forest green, all along that grassy aisle. Looking at the photos later on, we love all the color the guests brought to this pristine wedding ceremony decor.

THE RECEPTION

Golden lights, ethereal canopy curtains, and pretty flowers to cheers over from across the table. When designing these centerpieces, we took inspiration from slightly overgrown gardens bursting with life. We love how they came out, and we’re honestly still thinking about how they paired with that floral tablecloth—but that’s just a wedding well-planned! Down to every last detail.
