Earthy, Boho-Romantic Wedding Flowers

Ever wonder how wedding floral dreams become reality? It usually begins with a mood board. Ahead of her wedding, Caitlyn sent us a whole lot of photo inspo for what she and Phillip wanted their day to look like. And without them having to say a word, we knew they wanted romantic earth-tone designs with a boho twist.

A mood board of earthy, boho-romantic wedding flowers, featuring ring arch installations, centerpieces, and bouquets with lots of toffee roses, anemone, and ranunculus.

It’s our favorite way to get a feel for a client’s vision. That’s because, while it can’t hurt to share your favorite flowers, any florist can tell you that ordering blooms from around the world is fickle business—especially when you’re operating from a tropical island. So the more visual direction we get from you, the more equipped we are to make those floral dreams come true. Keep scrolling to see what went into the designs for Caitlyn and Phillip’s big day.

The Bouquet

Their mood board featured lots of toffee roses, dramatic dark-centered anemone, and ranunculus, so naturally we made sure Caitlyn’s bridal bouquet was packed with the board’s top-pinned flowers. We also pulled in some delicate little sweet peas, lacy orlaya, and pearly-tipped oregonia foliage for dialed-up romance.

The Ceremony Install

Lush flowers bursting from a ring arch? Done. We kept consistent by centering lots more toffee roses and sweet peas. Then we filled it all out with petalful lisianthus, larkspur, and foliage (plenty of boxwood and pittosporum mixed in with the oregonia here).

The Details

Guided by the abundant compote centerpieces on the mood board, we brought all the day’s floral elements together to gather around over dinner. And as for Phillip’s boutonniere, it was like a mini version of Caitlyn’s bouquet. They were a match made in heaven—or, that is, in our Makawao floral studio.
