Vibrant Jewel-Tone Wedding Flowers

Kimberly and Andrew’s Maui wedding was truly one of a kind! The personal details, brought together perfectly by Your Aloha Wedding planning company, were so thoughtful and just plain fun. Plus, Olowalu Plantation House, where they held it, is a beautiful venue—a perfectly idyllic blank slate from which to bring your vision to life. That’s why it’s a popular choice for destination couples and locals alike.

Since Kimberly and Andrew live on Maui, we were able to get together a number of times to discuss their dream flowers and really nail down our design. They went for a moody yet punchy color palette, featuring florals in burgundy and coral, with a touch of lime green.

They got married in June, the perfect time for local dahlias and peonies. To compliment those showstoppers, we pulled in dainty scabiosa and ranunculus (in two varieties). Then we added vibrant gladiolas and bouncy hellebore—and the cymbidium orchids and anthuriums were the tropical cherries on top.

Their wedded arch was draped with long strands of multicolored carnations (that we hand-strung ourselves!) which served as the perfect backdrop to their vows.

For her bouquet, Kimberly asked for a happy arrangement with a hanging element. Andrew chose to stray from the usual lapel pin in favor of a pocket boutonniere, which we had fun designing with many of the same blooms that Kimberly held.

But our favorite floral piece of the day was the hanging disco ball installation! To stay cohesive with all the other designs at play, we pulled in some carnation garlands à la wedding arch and foliage-rich jewel-tone florals the likes of which marked Kimberly and Andrew’s grassy wedding aisle.
